Investing is Weird
I just checked the performance of my brand new (one year old) IRA account to see how well my stock selections are going. It’s fascinating! (See VGSTX, VEIEX, and VBINX) I should talk to someone more knowledgeable than me about how well these things are actually doing; I’m comparing them to the S&P 500 (the majority of my account is in VFINX, which is directly tied to the 500). Some of them have out performed the S&P 500 over the course of the last year, but have underperformed in the last 6 months. I’m leaving my accounts alone, but what I really want to do is fiddle with them and see if I can outperform myself over the next year. I know, that’s probably a terrible idea, but I’m still curious. I should go back to kapitall.com and leave my real money alone.
